What changed
Until now, hiredoc ended when your resume was generated. You got the document, the LinkedIn preview, and the ability to tailor it to a posting — and then you were on your own to decide whether it was actually ready to send.
That last step turned out to be where people got stuck. A resume can be technically strong and still leave you uncertain, because you have no way to see it the way a hiring manager will.
So the final step is now a person. Every resume built on the $49 tier ends with a 15-minute video call with a certified resume analyst.
What happens on the call
- 1The analyst reads your resume the way a recruiter would on a first pass, and tells you what they noticed in the first ten seconds.
- 2You go through it section by section — summary, experience, skills — and discuss what is landing and what is not.
- 3You bring a real job posting, and the analyst reviews your resume against it specifically.
- 4Edits get made live, in your document, while you are both looking at it.
The most common outcome is not a rewrite. It is two or three changes to the top third of the first page — because that is where the decision gets made.
Why a human, when the rest is automated
The AI-assisted parts of hiredoc are good at a specific job: extracting the real substance of your experience through an interview and structuring it clearly. What they cannot do is tell you how a particular hiring manager in a particular market will react to a particular claim.
That judgement is what the analyst adds. It is also the part that people report changed how they thought about their own experience — which is not something a generated document tends to accomplish on its own.
Booking
Once your resume is unlocked on the $49 tier, a booking link appears in your dashboard. Pick a slot that suits you; you can reschedule if something comes up.

- Is the review call included or an add-on?
- It is included in the $49 CAD tier, which covers the full resume plus the call. The $29 CAD tier covers the resume, tailoring, and downloads without the call.
- What happens if I need changes after the call?
- You keep full access to your resume and can regenerate or edit it as often as you like at no additional cost. Edits made during the call are saved to your document immediately.
- Do I need to prepare anything for the call?
- Bring a job posting you are actually targeting if you have one. The call is considerably more useful when the analyst can review your resume against a specific role rather than in the abstract.
